In less than 2 short years, we have 3 kids. Yes, WOW!

Our newest sweet one came just last Friday. As of now Im covered in food and snot (cold season) and enjoying playing on the floor and snack times.

Being a mom is a fantastic job! And still, as of now, it will be the only job I work. Still not taking any summer clients, but I can't neglect my camera. Here are some snaps from today. These kiddos make me the happiest lady around! Even if it means I'm still in my pjs and ate a jelly bean for breakfast. They are perfect!

It's a race every Thursday to get Zach to the front door as the "BIG TRUCK!" comes and faithfully takes our trash away. Some days we are dressed by then, but usually he looks alittle like this...

Charlie is already 10 weeks old! Time flies! She is a beautiful baby and her personality brings constant smiles to whoever she is around.

The Henry family is expecting a little boy or girl in March!

I am currently on maternity leave. I am not booking Spring or Summer shoots and I am not booking any weddings for 2011.

If you live in the Portland or Vancouver area and would like my personal recommendation for a photographer, please take a look at Anna Hollister Photography. She does a fantastic job, has a wonderful personality, and happens to be my very hip auntie.

Though I haven't update this blog recently, I do plan to use it to share future photographic endeavors and projects in the up coming months.

I got a chance to get away for a nice long Labor Day weekend. I spent time in the pool, out on the deck, enjoyed BBQs, a show at the Starlight Theater, some extra sleep, and good quality family time.

While we were out I had a chance to take a few photos of David's cousin Jesse. It's already his last year for high school, but we are glad he is around for one more year! We like to watch his sweet special effects he creates in his videos and we also like to see him early in the morning making coffee at Coffee Corral!

A few years after college now, I get to be apart of the excitement each late summer and fall. Seniors are some of my favorite people to capture. Yes, I have been missing for a while.

I have lots to post, mostly work, but for today I want you to meet a very special little boy.

This is our son. Weird, I know, and no I haven't been hiding him for 14 months. After a year in the adoption process, this little guy is home with us. Amazing really!

I am taking a lil' 'maternity' leave. I am working hard to finish those that are already scheduled and will continue blogging jobs that are piled up on my hard drive! So don't go anywhere!

I've been on the road alot lately! First Hawaii (post still to come) then off to Boise for this shoot, then to Portland at the end of this week! By the time I end up at home again Spring should be here!

I had a great time doing this shoot. Six cousins, Five boys, One girl. The playground made a perfect spot for the pictures and I think they enjoyed themselves! Such sweet kids! Cute too!

This is the sweetest family. They welcomed their precious baby on January 2nd and he got his picture on the front page of our local newspaper, First Baby of the New Year . This little guy was so cute and comfortable in front of the camera, granted it was his second shoot, since the newspaper did his first. I love seeing the beauty in the parents how they look, talk and hold their new child.

This was such a fun shoot! Mackenzie is a senior at Winlock High School in Washington. I've known Mackenzie for a long time, since I grew up in Winlock, WA. We met up one weekend in Corvallis at OSU had a great time doing pics and catching up!

It rained a little, which is normal, but the colors and buildings were a photog's dream! Not to mention the pretty lady!

This family is, well, no lie, the BEST! We loaded up and just drove around the Baker Valley. Whenever we saw a spot we liked we stopped the car and jumped out, took a few shots and then loaded back in, off to the next spot.

Because we were working with a three year old we had to make a pit stop. One suggestion for family picture day; Cheetos aren't the best snack, orange cheesy powder... we made a quick recovery though!

Also, because we were working with a three year old I had major sass to work with! I love it!

This little dress makes it way out of the closet only for very special occasions. The dress belongs to this little girl's grandmother. It was hers, and she wore it when she was three. Now, when the little girls in the family turn three it is their turn to pull out the dress and have their photo taken with it on. What a wonderful family tradition!

This beautiful lady is my sweet cousin Aimee. We had a fun-filled family beach bash a few weekends ago. While our moms were making DE-lish burritos for dinner (Puerto Rican style, of course) Aimee and I were able to catch the last hour of sun, and it was...PERFECT!

I just had to take a break from being in front of the computer all day! So after running with the cross country team, I slipped out for an hour behind my camera. Aww, I needed that! Don't worry, all you who are waiting for your pictures, I am working very hard on them! I just needed a short breath of fresh air.

My sister-in-law, Jenny, came out to assist my modeling needs. I wanted to work with my speedlight and reflector, since I almost always go all natural. Anyway, I got slightly frustrated and put it all back in the car and just enjoyed the pure, beautiful, last sun rays of the day.

I hope everyone had a great summer! I'm in denial that it is August 31. I would be happy with a few more months of this weather. Fresh vegetables out of the garden, evenings at the lake, iced coffees, BBQs, sad! I'm not ready for fall, and definitely NOT ready for winter!

Well enough about me, now that summer is over, it is back to school! Though I love summer, I have always loved the first few weeks of school; anticipation, homework nights coupled with coffees and energy drinks, study groups, new friends, a fresh notebook and new pens. Aww, I sort of miss it, but then again, I'm really thankful I'm not in school anymore.

For many this will be your LAST year of high school! Crazy and exciting times! Both for you and your parents! Well anyway, this time of year marks the crazy senior portrait schedule for me! Wahoo, I love senior pics!

Babies are so cute, so small and perfect. These little humans come into the world and they capture so much of our attention. Everything about them is so innocent and precious. So often we make comments about how "good" a baby is because of their temperament or sleeping patterns, but how often do we realize and recognize a "good" mother? I couldn't help but think this during this little one's photo shoot. Though all attention is usually on the baby in the room, this little guy's attention was completely captured by his mother. I love, love, the look in his eyes. His look says it all, she is is his comforter, his smile, his playmate, his nurturer.

Melissa, though this was about your little guy's 6 month pictures, this post is to you. Congratulations on learning the art of being a beautiful mother to your son.

That's right, the rain has stopped and the sun has shone her shine. How I love summer! Picnics, swimming at the lake, gardening, BBQs, Weddings, Hiking, and Biking, there are just so many things to do and places to see.

Though summer is a great time of year, I seem to get busier and busier and when I get busy I forget to blog. So, I plan on posting a few photos, even if they are random, at least once a week. Though I didn't ride in the Elkhorn Classic Stage Race, I had tons of fun taking photos and handing off water bottles at the feed stations. These guys are total bike nerds and completely enjoyable to spend the weekend with!

It has been too long since I've updated my blog! I have been traveling around some. Currently I'm enjoying a Iced Vanilla Latte at Red Rock Bakery and Cafe in Moab, UT. A refreshing drink after a few hikes this morning around Arches National Park. David and I got up before the sun and beat it to the rocks. We enjoyed rocks, jackrabbits and a coyote before the other hikers hit the trail.

With the wind chill it's been somewhere between 20 to 30 below, but is expected to warm up to about 4 degrees by this afternoon. I'll post a photo from the first day I got here. We took Presley, Jodi's dog out for some fresh air and enjoyed the splash of color across the sky after the sun set. More pics to come...

Welcome to my first blog. I'm hoping to fill this blog with work done from behind my camera. Friends and family as well as clients and nature will make their appearances here from time to time. I hope that this will be a place to rekindle my love for photography as well as include you in the process. I'm heading out to the cold parts of Wisconsin to visit a good friend and plan on posting some beautiful photos of my time there. Thanks for taking the time to visit.
